The Gist

Player is an SCP-370-b, a variant of the SCP-370 infection.

  • Inspirations:
    • Hotline Miami
      • Brotato
      • SCP Foundation

Theme Interpretation

It Spreads

WARNING: SCP-370 is an exceedingly contagious memetic infection.

SCP-370 is one of the most dangerous infections in the SCP Foundation Universe. It's known mortality rate is 100%. It is an info-hazard. It is a key. Knowing too much about it causes infection. It emits a yellow light. The infected are driven to spread SCP-370 through two vectors:

  • Physically, through violence, as seen in subjects presenting SCP-SCP-b syptoms. They are useful brutes.
  • Memonically, through information hazards, as seen in subjects presenting SCP-SCP-c syptoms. It is contained in a block of lead.

Subjects presenting SCP-SCP-a do not spread the infection, though their mortality rate is also 100%. They are weak willed.

Win

  • Subject will raise its arms skyward and shout in a slightly amplified voice, “████ take me home!” This sound seems to pass through soundproof walls and industrial strength earmuffs with only slight muffling. Infection of all human beings within earshot is virtually guaranteed, except in cases of sensory deafness. After this cry, a shaft of radiation in the visible spectrum forms around the subject, who will then levitate several feet above the ground before [REDACTED] and vanishing.

INCIDENT-370-B Future Plans

I want to expand on INCIDENT-370-B by continuing to create games in the SCP Foundation Universe. INCIDENT-370-B serves as a prototype for a sandbox style SCP Universe Game Engine. The prototype is written in a way where any NPC can become infected with SCP-370-B. When the player starts glowing, there is a chance for other D-Class to display symptoms of SCP-370-B. After this, the AI will start attacking others and going through the same transformation. This can actually lead to the game soft-locking as the player can't infect enough people after the AI does. It would be possible to play as a researcher or a guard and try to contain the breach but that is out of scope for the prototype - I would have to adjust the win conditions for every eventuality that could happen. This sandbox can be applied to many different gameplay loops. Prison Architect but with building an SCP Foundation Site? Perhaps inside that site that the player creates, they can take over any NPC and play as them, allowing the player to play out any scenario they want as any Foundation personal that they want. The player could also just watch as different things happen and NPCs in the sandbox respond. With Twitch chat integration, this sandbox could become a game that Twitch plays by using points to release SCPs (or to stop them from breaking containment). From there I could see Twitch streamers building their own Foundation Sites and starting their own lore for their Streams, with reoccurring characters that the Streamer can take over to respond to the events Twitch Chat causes.

Stream. Contain. Project.
